NATIONAL BANK FOR AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT


NABARD was established on the recommendations of the B.Sivaramman Committee on 12 July 1982  with an initial capital of 100 crore rupees, replacing the Agricultural Credit Department (ACD) and Rural Planning and Credit Cell (RPCC) of the Reserve Bank of India and the Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation (ARDC).

  • It is an apex agriculture & rural development regulatory agency under Ministry of Finance, GoI.
  • The headquarters of NABARD is situated at Mumbai.

In 2019 RBI sold its share to Government of India and now GoI has the 100% share of NABARD.
